I organise at least one long weekend group bike trip a year ranging from easy, flat canal towpaths to the arduous South Downs Way. If you are interested in joining us, drop me an email.

Hi Tim, am thinking of doing the Reading to Bath/Bristol ride along the Kennet and Avon, but trying to work out whether it’s possible to do it in 2 days (fairly fit but not wanting to kill ourselves) or whether we should budget 3 days like you guys did. Any comments would be most appreciated!
Cheers,
Abby

Hi Abby,
Should be able to do it in 2 days – the 3 days just made it more social/enjoyable that’s all.
If you follow the national cycle route the middle section goes off the towpath and there are some hills to look out for. Our day 1 was a mostly flat 35 miles and day 3 an easy flat ride though. We set off around 10:30am each day and were done easily in time to shower, relax for a bit and then get food/drink in the evening. If you are feeling keen the cycle route also continues to Bristol if you want to add another 16 miles and make it up to a round 100
Good luck!
