I live in the UK and love biking and travelling and most things of the outdoor adventure type including climbing, canoeing and walking. Biking is my main thing though – on road with my Tifosi audax bike or off road with my Gary Fisher hard tail.

I organise at least one long weekend group bike trip a year ranging from easy, flat canal towpaths to the arduous South Downs Way. If you are interested in joining us, drop me an email.

I’m a software developer – specialising in startup projects – mostly web and mobile based. My company is www.pentatonix.com

  3. Hi Tim, am thinking of doing the Reading to Bath/Bristol ride along the Kennet and Avon, but trying to work out whether it’s possible to do it in 2 days (fairly fit but not wanting to kill ourselves) or whether we should budget 3 days like you guys did. Any comments would be most appreciated!

    Cheers,

  4. Hi Abby,

Should be able to do it in 2 days – the 3 days just made it more social/enjoyable that’s all.

If you follow the national cycle route the middle section goes off the towpath and there are some hills to look out for. Our day 1 was a mostly flat 35 miles and day 3 an easy flat ride though. We set off around 10:30am each day and were done easily in time to shower, relax for a bit and then get food/drink in the evening. If you are feeling keen the cycle route also continues to Bristol if you want to add another 16 miles and make it up to a round 100 ;)

    Good luck!
