Today we reached Suffolk and it is flat flat flat! Well not totally, but the hills are little baby ones. For the first time I think it felt like we were just going for a ‘nice ride’ – albeit a 61 mile one.
Calorie Counting (more is good when exercising for the whole day)
Andy is still winning in calories consumed over the whole trip. We have been having mini daily competitions though over who can buy the sandwich with the most calories in.
This has resulted in some discoveries such as:
- Cheese sandwiches normally win
- Co-op sandwiches have notably less calories in them than tesco ones (even comparing the same sandwich we found a big difference).
- Usual sandwich range is from around 300 – 500.
Anyway today Tom thought he’d trumped everyone by buying a triple coming in at 700 or so. But no – I’d visited the pasty section and got an All day breakfast Pasty weighing in at a whopping 967! Thus taking the prize for single most calorific lunch item.
In other news we had a good dose of off-road today including muddy tracks and fields – thanks Shandy.
